Jayden Williams

I left high school and walked straight into my dream course, architecture. It didn't take long to realise it wasn't for me. That left me with a question I couldn't shake. How did everyone else get to where they are? I spent everything I'd saved as a sales cadet at Barry Plant, helping out the sales team, on a trip overseas, then came home and went looking for the answer. While I was working at Synotive, I started a podcast called The Boardroom and put that question to people who'd lived it. Peter Hitchener, Pat Rafter, Dylan Alcott and Steph Claire Smith all sat down and answered it. Those conversations taught me to back myself. I introduced myself to Rare Birds Lab and walked out with a job on the spot. No experience, just the right attitude, and a senior team to learn from. Then I swapped small business for corporate media at Southern Cross Austereo. That's where I learned marketing properly. Briefs, communication, systems, and managing people up and down. But I missed building things, so I went back to digital at a small agency, working on what I love most: websites, apps and digital marketing. All of it led here. It's why I felt ready to help Big Dog Builds with their next evolution. And I'm still asking how everyone else got to where they are.
