Noha Abadeer on why great products don't sell themselves

Founder and CEO, CB Skinteq

“Great products don't sell themselves.”

Noha Abadeer is a skin specialist and the founder of CB Skinteq. Years of research, science-backed formulations, and a brand that went global this past year.

I asked her what most founders get wrong about launching. Her answer: "I was so naive to think they were just gonna sell themselves."

What 'best practice' would you eliminate?

The 10-step skincare routine. More doesn't mean better. It overwhelms your skin barrier. Simplicity wins.

What's the biggest lie about success?

Results happen overnight. You see the wins. You don't see the years of consistency.

What's your best interview question?

"Tell me about a time you failed and what you did next." Failure reveals character. Success stories don't.

What technology are people sleeping on?

AI diagnostics for skincare. Instant, personalised product recommendations. It's coming whether you're ready or not.

What trend will backfire?

Instant fix hype. No magic pills. No overnight miracles. Just broken promises.

How do you spot a fraud?

They can't back up their claims. Great talkers. Empty wrappers. No proof.

What should people stop doing?

Copy-pasting. Same products, different names. Consumers are smarter than that. Authenticity wins.

What's the hardest lesson you've learned?

Great products don't sell themselves. I thought quality was enough. Consumers want to see YOU. Content isn't optional.

What's your current obsession?

My skincare line. We went global this year. To succeed, you need to be obsessed. Non-negotiable.

What stuck with me

"Right now what consumers want is the face of the owner to be in every content piece," Noha told me. "As the face of the product to back the claims of my ingredients." Showing up stopped being optional.

CB Skinteq didn't go global because the formulas got better. It went global because Noha became obsessed and showed up. Not passion. Obsession.

What are you obsessed with right now?
